OUR FOUNDERS
Carolyn Ewing
Carolyn is a Hoosier with a passion for helping others. Formerly employed at Riley Hospital for 23 years, she is currently employed as a Social Worker with a local insurance company. Otherwise, her time is spent volunteering at Lut's Pantry (Masjid Al Mumineen), assisting other non-profits and connecting community resources with those in need.
Mumina Blackman
Mumina, on the other hand, is from Philadelphia, PA. Mumina is a co-founder of the first, full- time, Islamic school in Indianapolis, In., (Madrassatu Ilm, MTI) which has existed for more than 20 years. She has worked as a Mental Health Counselor for more than 15 years focusing on Depression, Anxiety and Addiction; in Philadelphia, Alabama and Indianapolis.She too has dedicated her life to helping. She is currently working full time as a Master's level Social Worker.
Nashia Abdul-Aleem
Nashia works as a Parent Liaison to help families connect to resources and their school community. She has volunteered in various capacities to merge families with tools to assist them in their lives. Food insecurity is a passion of hers especially as it relates to children. Advocacy concerning children and education issues is central to her work as well.
